The 29-year-old also refuted charges about rape and forcing the woman to undergo abortion.

Speaking to media at a conference, Sardara said, "At present, my concentration is on hockey, nation comes first for me. Our team is doing well. These distractions are going on, to which I will reply when the report comes."

The Indian captain also said that the woman misused his Twitter account and even though he had met her before London Olympics 2012, he hadn't met her in the last few years and he was never engaged to her.

"Look, last time when I was playing in Spain, she had access to my emails as earlier my friends used to use these. Later she procured passwords from them. Some tweets were also misused which were attributed to me. She had also announced through twitter that we will get married soon, at that time we were playing in Spain," Sardara said.

Earlier, Bhogal, who is a British citizen and a hockey player herself, filed a complaint at the Koom Kalan police station at Sri Bhaini Shaib in Ludhiana saying that she was engaged to Sardara for four years and he mentally and physically harassed her.

She also said that after a four-year relationship, Sardara now refused to marry her and was also not picking her calls.

The complaint filed by the girl is being verified by Ludhiana police. However, the complainant's lawyer PS Hundal said that it's a cognizable offence, and the police can take action soon.
