New Delhi: Defending World Cup skiing champion Marcel Hirscher had a lucky escape on Tuesday after he narrowly avoided being hit by a falling drone which could have injured him badly.

Hirscher was on his second run in a World Cup slalom race at Madonna di Campiglio in Italy, when a big drone came crashing down behind him, missing him by seconds.

The Austrian finished in second place, 1.25 seconds behind Norway's Henrik Kristoffersen.


Reacting to the incident, the Austrian also posted a Tweet through his official account.
