Gymnast Dipa Karmakar misses medal by a whisker, finishes 4th with a score of 15.066
In her two vaults in the final, Dipa scored 14.866 and 15.266 respectively.
New Delhi: Not many had seen India participating in Gymnastics on world stage before Rio Olympics, but the world bowed down to Dipa Karmakar who made her nation proud in front of the whole world.
The 22-year-old scored a total of 15.066, behind 3rd placed Giulia Steingruber (SUI), 2nd placed Maria Paseka (RUS) and champion Simone Biles (USA).
In her two vaults in the final, Dipa scored 14.866 and 15.266 respectively.
Dipa Karmakar had earlier become the first Gymnast to make to the finals at Olympics score of 14.850 in the qualifiers.
At the qualifiers, she performed Produnova vault in the first attempt, while her second vault was a Tsuk double full twist with step to the side.
