Wrestling: India's Greco-Roman wrestler Hardeep Singh lost his opening round bout in the 98 kg category by technical points to Turkey's Ildem Cenk and crashed out of the competition.

Badminton: But two-time World Championship bronze medallist PV Sindhu kept India's medal hopes alive by beating London Games silver medallist Wang Yihan of China in the women's singles quarter-finals.
