In a shocking incident, Said broke his leg after the timing of his landing went totally wrong as a video of him holding his tangled leg went viral.

The Frenchman, who has been recovering at Vitoria Barra Hospital in Rio, posted photos of him walking in the corridors.

Ait-Said was also visited in his bed by Bruno Grandi, president of the Federation Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG), with the pair smiling for a picture.

Said, who underwent surgery on the gruesome double break of his leg suffered at the Rio Olympics, said that he knew it was all over for him in this year's event.

"Everyone was a bit surprised by my reaction," he said.
