Jasleen Matharu denies dating Bhajan Samrat Anup Jalota, calls it a prank gone horribly wrong
Bigg Boss contestant Jasleen Matharu refutes relationship rumours with ace Bhajan Samrat Anup Jalota.
New Delhi: Singer Jasleen Matharu became the latest Bigg Boss 12 contestant to be evicted from the house. She along with Marathi Bigg Boss winner Megha Dhade was shown the door in Bigg Boss.
In her nearly three-month long stay in Bigg Boss, Jasleen made headlines for her alleged romance with ace Bhajan maestro Anup Jalota. Her revelations about dating Jalot for nearly three years during her entry inside the show had shocked not only host Salman Khan but also also her family members. However, after getting eliminated from the show, Jasleen has clarified that there was no romantic angle between her and Jalota and it was a prank that went horribly wrong.
She stated that she is just 28 and the bhajan maestro is 65 and she was absolutely shocked when she came to know about their alleged relationship had become a national issue.
"I am 28 and he is 65. I was shocked that it had become a national issue. I Googled all that was written about me; I saw the memes about Anupji and me," she told mid-Day.
"Our affair is a prank gone horribly wrong. As the show's theme was jodis, I suggested that Anupji come along; we were a guru-shishya jodi. But when Salman was introducing the housemates in the opening episode, I joked that I know Anupji for three years and that we are together. Anupji was taken aback and did not react. Had he reacted then, the matter would have ended there. I continued the joke inside the house, and he played along. But when he realised things were going too far, he was scared."
On the professional front, Anup Jalota is a renowned singer mainly known for his devotional songs. He was quite popular in the Bigg Boss house as well.
