Mumbai: Mouni Roy, Indian TV’s most beautiful and adorable Naagin will not be a part of the show’s third season. Producer Ekta Kapoor confirmed this news via an Instagram post and even said that she will reveal the names of the two new Naagins soon. Like Mouni, even Adaa Khan, who too played a Naagin in the show, wouldn’t feature in the third edition.

Ekta’s Instagram post read: “A new nagin arrives! As we bid Adieu to @imouniroy and @adaakhann from NAAGINwe welcome the NEW! Will soon reveal my new ‘naagin’ or should I say ‘NAAGINS’ #waitfornaagin3 (sic).”

Mouni, who has been the face of the show since the very beginning reacted to the post by writing: “that hurt a little but am excited too” (sic)

Ekta responded by posting: “@imouniroy u will always b a part of balaji! For now bigger things await u!!!!!! My dearest we will miss u on naagin ! (sic).”

The first season of the show which went on air on November 1, 2015 also featured Arjun Bijlani and Sudha Chandran in pivotal roles, while the second edition which premiered on October 8, 2016 had Karanvir Bohra and Aashka Goradia on board besides Mouni and Adaa.

The supernatural series inspired by fictitious tale of icchadhari Naagin or snakes blessed with the power to take any form of life on earth, revolved around Shivanya (Mouni) and Shesha’s (Adaa) revengeful mission.

And now that Ekta has clearly said that the third season of the super-hit show will not have Mouni and Adaa, we wonder who will replace them.

But here’s good news for Mouni fans. She is all set to make her Bollywood debut opposite Akshay Kumar in Reema Kagti’s Gold. And this is exactly what Ekta meant while saying, “For now bigger things await u.”
