She says she took cue from former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

In the show, Saumya will be contesting elections opposite Angoori Bhabi (Shubhangi Atre Poorey).

"My look in the episode is inspired by Indira Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. I also wanted to add Sonia Gandhi's accent but it didn't fit well in the story. It will be a learning experience to do her accent. I will also love to play the role in future," Saumya said in a statement.

What will she do if she becomes a politician in real life?

Saumya said: "As I suffer every day of my life with traffic and poor city planning, if given a chance to become a politician in real life, I would like to improve the infrastructure of Mumbai.

"The everyday life of a common man in Mumbai is chaotic with bad traffic, roads with potholes, overflowing sewage and overcrowded public transport. I would like to improve the basic living conditions for the people. Though the latest initiatives taken by the government looks positive, it's a long way to go."

"Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain" is aired on &TV.
