Bhubaneswar: From the mouth-watering delicacies to the enchanting dance forms and primitive arts and handicrafts kept alive by tribal artisans, people in New Delhi will enjoy the rich tradition and culture of Odisha.

In line with Bharat Parva, Odia Samaj is going to organise "Odisha Parba 2017" in Delhi from April 29 to May 1 to showcase the rich heritage of Odisha, display colourful cultural forms and exhibit the vibrant socio-cultural and political ethos of the state.


The Parba will be organised at August Kranti Udyan 'A' at India Gate Lawns, in New Delhi.


"The mega event will showcase a grand spectrum of beautiful Odisha through its enchanting music and dance, traditional arts and crafts, rich history and heritage, and authentic foods and flavours," said Sidharth Pradhan, Odia Samaj, New Delhi.


Each evening, the magnificent hues of Odisha will be showcased through an exhibition, handloom and handicraft Haat, food court and a live stage, he added.


Typical Odia cuisine including Raghu Dahibara from Cuttack, Dilbahar Lassi from Buxi Bazar, Cuttack, Atmaram Sweets from Cuttack, Kendrapada Rasabali, Odia Thali by Odisha Hotel, Cuttack Baramaza will be available at the food court.


The stalls on handlooms and handicrafts to showcase various crafts and weaves of Odisha plus live demonstration of making of Dhokra, Applique, Stone Sculpture, Patachitra, Palm leaf etching, Papier Mache, handloom weaving, and sand art by top ranking artisans will be also available on display at this event.


Dance and music shows on Odisha's various traditional folk, Odissi, fusion, contemporary dance forms will be performed by eminent artists in the evening during the three-day event.


Another attraction of the event will be 52 feet high replica of Rath (Chariot) used in Puri Rath Yatra (Cart Festival). It will be displayed just inside the entrance gate, said Pradhan.
