Orai, Uttar Pradesh: Launching a high-pitched attack on Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Mayawati ahead of the crucial polls in the Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the people to punish the BSP and Samajwadi Party for ignoring the region all these years.

Addressing a election rally here, PM Modi said, “You have tried and tested Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and Congress. In 70 years they couldn't even ensure drinking water in Bundelkhand...punish them by ensuring thier defeat. They have taken Bundelkhand for granted for long.”


“These polls are crucial for Bundelkhand...It has to decide whether it wants to get rid of SP-BSP. BJP promises that the next government in Uttar Pradesh will address the problems of Bundelkhand,” he said.


“New schemes will be launched to solve the problems of the region. A new Bundelkhand Development Board will be set up in the CM's office and it work will be tracked on a weekly basis,” Modi added.


Touching upon the issue of demonetisation, he said, “Aren't SP and BSP sworn enemies. But I was amused when I declared war on corruption by notebandi they united and started to speak the same language.”


“Benhenji (Mayawati) said that if the government gave one week – before banning Rs 500 and Rs 100 notes - then there wouldn't have been a problem, Mulayam Singh also said the same thing, but why did they need one week?” he put the question to the audience.

The Prime Minister also spelt 'SCAM' as S = Samajwadi Party, C = Congress, A=Akhilesh Yadav and M = Mayawati.


He went to appeal to the people to end the rule of 'SCAM' from Uttar Pradesh.
