Muzaffarnagar: A fast-track court here on Friday convicted a farmer, his wife and son of murdering two persons and sentenced them to life imprisonment.

Judge Punam Rajput held the accused, Rajiv, his wife Maya and son Deepak, guilty under sections 302 and 307 of IPC and also imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 on each of them.


According to government lawyer Ritu Choudhry, the victims, Rana and his mother Vidhya, were shot dead and two others injured in a clash arising from a dispute over watering of fields from a tube well at Sikheda village in the district on May 25, 2007.
