New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday advised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs from Uttar Pradesh not to put unnecessary pressure on the police department.
PM Modi, while speaking to the BJP parliamentarians from Uttar Pradesh - one of India's most electorally crucial states - asked them not to unnecessarily transfer the police officers.
BJP president Amit Shah also attended the meeting. "Prime Minister suggested us to refrain from transfer and posting of officials. This causes unnecessary pressure on state government," a BJP pariamentarian who was present in the meeting told IANS on the condition of anonymity.
He also urged the BJP MPs to ensure that the Code of Conduct of the government should be 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.
PM Modi asked the parliamentarians to make sure that the development projects are carried in each and every Constituency, irrespective of whichever party candidate represents it.
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has pledged to work for all sections without bias and said he believed in PM Modi's slogan 'sabka saath sabka vikas'.
PM Modi ticks off BJP MPs
PM Modi, while attending the BJP's Parliamentary meet on Tuesday, raised the issue of his MPs' absenteeism and asked them to be present inside Lok Sabha and Rajha Sabha while the proceedings are on.
Mincing no words, the Prime Minister warned his colleagues that if he finds any MP missing from the House for no reason, he would not hesitate in personally give them a call asking for explanation.
Unhappy with the regular absentees, the PM said that the BJP MPs, who are frequently found to be seated at the Central Hall of Parliament or somewhere else, should ensure that they mark their attendance by attending the proceedings in both the Houses.
PM Modi also expressed his unhappiness over some BJP MPs for not having in-depth knowledge of the important Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill.
Speaking to the BJP MPs, PM Modi stressed that he could help them win elections again, but he can't help them mark their attendance in Lok Sabha or the Rajya Sabha.
