"We are not casting aspersions over the commission`s intentions. But the poll panel must satisfactorily address the doubts raised by several quarters," Yadav, a Rajya Sabha member, said outside Parliament.

On the newly elected Bharatiya Janata Party government in Uttar Pradesh, Yadav said his party would desist from commenting on the development for six months.

"Give the new Chief Minister (Yogi Adityanath) some time. Let them settle down."

Since 2000, EVMs have been used in 107 elections to state legislative assemblies and three Lok Sabha elections held in 2004, 2009 and 2014.
