Bhadohi: Ten child labourers engaged in carpet weaving were freed following a police raid at a house in Nai Bazar locality here.

On a tip-off over phone from Araria district of Bihar last night, police swung into action and raided the premises and freed 10 child labourers, labour enforcement officer, Mohammad Abbas said.


The agent, who had brought the children, all in the age group of 8 to 13, was arrested, he said.


The children have been sent for medical examination.


Bhadoi is famous for carpet-weaving.
