Undertrial commits suicide in UP

Shahjahanpur: An undertrial lodged in the district jail here allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a water tank.

Lalu (35), lodged in the jail for allegedly killing his daughter jumped into the water tank yesterday night, Jail superintendent Rakesh Kumar said.

As soon as other prisoners raised an alarm, fire brigade was called and after draining the water he was taken out from the tank and rushed to a hospital, where he was declared dead.

Lalu had allegedly killed his minor daughter on May 10 this year.
