GHAZIABAD: The inauguration of the elevated road in Ghaziabad has triggered a bitter war of words between the BJP, which is in power in Uttar Pradesh, and the Samajwadi Party led by Akhilesh Yadav.
Leading the charge this time, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav on Friday attacked the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for stealing credit of the work done by the previous government.
Akhilesh, the former UP chief minister, was referring to the inauguration of the elevated road in Ghaziabad by Yogi Adityanath on Friday morning.
Akhilesh took to Twitter and tweeted, ''To help ease traffic in Ghaziabad, we commissioned this elevated road which is over 9-km long and completing fast.''
The caption of Akhilesh's tweet read, “ram ram japna, paraya kam apna.''

The reactions from Akhilesh Yadav came shortly after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the elevated road which is believed to be approximately 10.30-km-long.
It is also touted to be the longest of its kind in the country.
The 10.30-km-long road connects UP Gate at Delhi-Ghaziabad border to the Rajnagar Extension and is expected to provide a big relief to the commuters going to Meerut.
The construction of the road was completed one year back and it was one of the top initiatives of the previous Akhilesh Yadav government in Uttar Pradesh.
The six-lane elevated road in Ghaziabad has been built at a cost of Rs 1,147 crore and is supported on 227 pillars.
District magistrate and the vice chairperson of Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) Ritu Maheswar was among those present during the inauguration.
''Due to its design, the vehicle owners will be allowed to drive at an average speed of 80 km per hour on the road, '' Maheswar was quoted as saying by the PTI.
After inaugurating the road at Rajnagar Extension area, the Chief Minister also went for a ride and travelled to Vasundhara.
The inauguration of the elevated road has triggered a bitter war of words between the ruling BJP and the Samajwadi Party led by Akhilesh Yadav.
Attacking the BJP, the SP said that its MLC Rakesh Yadav had first "inaugurated" the road on March 16, claiming that the project was started during party's rule in the state.
An FIR was registered against Yadav and several Samajwadi Party workers in this connection later.
