DNA: Why funding religious education in a secular country?

The Allahabad High Court has sought answers from the Yogi government on some questions on religious education given in madrassas. The High Court has asked whether a secular state can fund madrassas imparting religious education? The court further asked whether madrasas are in line with the spirit of secularism?
