DNA: Why Ram Navami processions can`t go through `Muslim Areas`?

On the occasion of Ram Navami, communal violence erupted in many states of our country and the processions being taken out on Ram Navami were attacked. But the shocking thing is that many people of our own country are justifying these attacks by saying that the processions of Ram Navami should not be taken out through Muslim areas. The big question is how can any place in a secular country be called a Hindu or a Muslim area.
