Why China did not bat an eye amid the Lanka crisis?

Looks like, Chinese-funded projects have deepened Sri Lanka's economic crisis. In the hope to plug years of budget shortfalls and trade deficits, Sri Lanka ended up borrowing heavily for infrastructure projects that have further drained public finances.
