Senior officials are working to finalise the revised programme of the Prime Minister to New York and San Francisco as he is suffering from osteoarthritis, which will make it difficult for him to keep up all the scheduled engagements. While Vajpayee is likely to go through all his engagements in Washington, which includes a summit meeting with President Bill Clinton and address to the US Congress, certain programmes are being dropped in New York and San Francisco. Besides addressing the Millenium Summit of the UN General Assembly, the Prime Minister is scheduled to address the Asia Society and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and meet 11 heads of state or government. Besides, he will have an interaction with information technology professionals in the Silicon Valley. Foreign Secretary Lalit Mansingh, who left for Washington last night for bilateral consultations, is expected to give final touches to the Prime Minister's programme — UNI
