WhatsApp may soon bring new feature to notify your contacts when you change phone number

New Delhi: Next time when you change your number, you will not have to manually tap on each contact of yours to notify them.

Instant messaging app WhatsApp is reportedly bringing a new feature that will notify your contacts when you change your phone number.

WhatsApp beta tracker @WABetaInfo has found the feature in in beta version 2.17.130 for Windows Phone or Windows 10 Mobile users.

WABetaInfo tweeted:

WhatsApp's “Change Number” feature will allow you to change your number on WhatsApp without having to lose your chats.

You can have three options for the feature

• Share the new number with all of your contacts
• Share only to those contacts you have chats with
• Don't choose to share your new number to any of your contacts

This feature will send notifications to all your groups automatically, regardless of which option you choose.

The ‘Change Number’ feature will reportedly be disabled by default. When you are changing your number,  you must switch it on.
