Frontier Corp sources said that the five terrorists were killed in the Uch area near Dera Murad Jamali during a combing operation late last night.

"Four terrorists were shot in the exchange of fire while five others were injured and arrested," the source confirmed.

The combing operation was carried out hours after the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi Al-Alami, a banned outfit, claimed responsibility for the attack on the Shia Hazara Muslims in which five people died.

Police said two of the injured people were in critical condition.

"Two persons on a motorcycle opened indiscriminate firing on a taxi in which the Hazara men were travelling on Spiny road in Quetta," a police official said.

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Abdul Razzak Cheema said the incident appeared to be a sectarian targeted shooting.
