Over 2.80 crore electorate exercised their rights in the state to elect their representatives for the 119-member Assembly on Friday.
The polling in Telangana Assembly elections was conducted on Friday and voter turnout of 56.17% was recorded till 3 pm in the state, which has witnessed a multi-corner contest. The major political parties in fray in Telangana are Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The Telugu Desam Party (TDP), the Congress party, the Telangana Jana Samiti (TJS) and the Communist Party of India (CPI) have constituted an alliance names 'Prajakutami' (People's Front). Over 2.80 crore electorate exercised their rights in the state to elect their representatives for the 119-member Assembly on Friday. The voting began at 7 am and continued till 5 pm.
