Toyota Kirloskar India is gearing up for the launch of the Toyota Innova Hycross, which happens to be India's first strong hybrid MPV. The Toyota Innova Hycross will debut in Indonesia as ‘Zenix’ on November 21, followed by India debut on November 25. However, the launch and price reveal of the 2022 Toyota Innova Hycross is expected in India as early as January 2023. While earlier released teaser of the Toyota Innova Hycross and multiple spy shots have revealed the design of the MPV, the cabin design and features still remain a mystery.

The Japanese automaker has now formally teased the cabin of the Toyota Innova Hycross revealing that the 3-row MPV will get a panoramic sunroof and roof mounted AC vents for the first time. The teaser revealing the sunroof reads "The breathtaking space is coming."

Toyota Innova Hycross: Specifications

The biggest change in the Toyota Innova Hycross as compared to the Toyota Innova Crysta will be the powertrain options. While the current Innova Crysta gets a 2.4-litre diesel motor and a 2.7-litre petrol motor, the Innova Hycross will not be offered with a diesel option. Instead, Toyota Innova Hycross could be powered by a new 2.0-litre motor, which includes a petrol and a strong-hybrid setup. Toyota has already stopped taking bookings for the Innova Crysta diesel in India.

Toyota Innova Hycross: Design

As seen in the teaser, the new Toyota Innova Hycross will get a refreshed front fascia with sleek headlamps, placed right on top of the creasing bonnet, while the LED DRLs are placed below the front grille. This lends a more premium, SUV design to the Innova Hycross. The MPV will include monocoque chassis instead of ladder frame and will be based on an all-new platform.

Toyota Innova Hycross: Features

The teaser reveals that apart from the panoramic sunroof, the Toyota Innova Hycross will feature ambient lighting adjacent to sunroof panels. The rear AC vents are placed parallel to the sunroof panels unlike the central placing in the Crysta and dedicated screens for second-row passengers. The Toyota Innova Hycross will have a redesigned dashboard with a large floating touchscreen and a dual-tone interior theme.

Expect the design to be inspired from the recently launched Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, which means Silver accents are expected on the dashboard and aircon vents for a premium look and feel. Other key features include dashboard-mounted gear lever console, middle row captain seats with Ottoman function, 360° camera and wireless charging.

Maruti Suzuki premium MPV

Like the other vehicles, the Toyota Innova Hycross is expected to be launched by Maruti Suzuki later as a rebadged version of the premium MPV. This means the new MPV, once launched, will be the most expensive Maruti Suzuki product and can be retailed through Nexa, just like Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, which is based on the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
