Honda WR-V to be launched tomorrow
With only two variants on offer in the WR-V`s line-up, it is apparent that Honda wants to clearly differentiate its pricing from that of the Jazz.
Honda is all set to launch the WRV tomorrow. For the uninitiated, the WRV is based on the same platform as the Jazz, which is also shared by the Honda City. Compared to the Jazz, the WRV has grown marginally in terms of dimensions. Mechanically, it shares its powertrain options with the Jazz. But there is a catch – the Honda WRV doesn’t offer the CVT automatic option like the Jazz petrol does.
Honda began accepting pre-bookings for the car at a payment of Rs 21,000 in the first week of March. The prices are expected to start in the vicinity of Rs 7 lakh. With its expected price band, the WR-V will go up against a plethora of rivals among sub-4m SUVs and cross hatches.
Though the Honda WR-V is based on the Jazz, the former is a relatively plusher product in many ways. In fact, the WR-V borrows several goodies from the 2017 facelifted Honda City, such as one-touch open and close sunroof, 7.0-inch infotainment system, and others.
Despite the Jazz lacking in terms of features as opposed to the WR-V, the hatchback holds the fort with a few exclusive features. Also, looking at the similarly priced offerings in the WR-V’s price range (including siblings), it misses out on several attributes.
