Donald Trump, the former United States President has started to fly in his private Boeing 757 luxury jet once again, after a 3-year hiatus. The luxury jet is one of the world's most recognized planes due to its unique dark livery and 'TRUMP' badging. Donald Trump reportedly last flew on his highly customized private jet in 2017, before becoming the 45th president of the United States, although the plane kept flying till 2019. As per flight tracking websites, the plane was grounded and stored at Stewart International Airport in mid-2019. During the 3 year break, the aircraft had one engine removed and became overdue for maintenance and also got a new paint job. The Boeing 757, according to various reports, including a report on CNN, was bought by Donald Trump at an estimated cost of $100 million (Rs 820 crore) from Microsoft billionaire Paul Allen in 2010. Donald Trump then partnered with International Jet Interiors, a private aircraft interior refurbishment company, to modify his 757 and add customized interiors including VIP area, custom galley, a bedroom, dining room, guest suite, and 43 seats, taking 6 months to complete. Allegedly, Rs 80 crore were spent on the mod-job, taking the value of the plane to Rs 900 crore.

Not just that, the plane even has a 24-karat gold plate on some metal surfaces of the interior that cost around $250,000 alone. Apart from this, the seats feature the Trump family crest embroidered with fabric imported from Paris. Before buying this plane in 2010, Donald Trump family owned a Boeing 727 that he sold in 2009 to purchase the 757.

Donald Trump using Air Force One

In 2017, Donald Trump was elected the 45th President of the United States, after which, he was given an Air Force One customized Boeing 747 jet for his official travel. Donald Trump didn't fly in his Boeing 757 for a long time and due to the plane’s age, it was grounded in 2019. While some rumours suggested Trump is letting go his plane to purchase a brand-new jet, three-decade-old plane is back in action.

According to a tweet from a former White House staffer, the private Boeing 757 in its shiny new paint appeared to have flown from South Florida to Texas for a Trump rally. Donald Trump has announced to run for Presidential race once again after losing to Democratic Party's Joe Biden in 2021.
