Panic At Mumbai Airport After Woman Claims To Have Bomb In Bag; Arrested
After the incident at Mumbai Airport, a case was registered at Sahar police station against the woman, and she was arrested for claiming to have a bomb in her bag.
Panic broke out at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Wednesday after a woman passenger claimed that she was carrying a bomb in her luggage. The incident took place when a woman passenger travelling from Mumbai to Kolkata was asked to pay extra for her luggage.
Reportedly, the woman was carrying two bags and hence was asked by the airport staff to pay the extra charges. However, she refused to pay and got in a spat with the airport staff. Later, claimed that she was carrying a bomb in her bag.

The female traveller's bag was then inspected by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) with the help of sniffer dogs to find out she had nothing in her luggage.
After the incident, a case was registered at Sahar police station against the woman under sections 336 and 505 (2) of IPC, and she was arrested. IPC Section 336 addresses act endangering the life or personal safety of others, while Section 505 (2) addresses the statements conducing to public mischief. With these charges, the woman was then produced in the court, which later granted her bail.
This is not the first time such an incident has occurred at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. In October, the airport authorities received a hoax threat of a bomb on an IndiGo plane. At the time the plane was delayed while the security forces at the airport were on high alert because of the hoax threat.
