এবার খবর পড়বে RJ- রাও
দীর্ঘ অপেক্ষার পর অবশেষে বেসরকারি এফএম চ্যানেলে খবর সম্প্রচার করার অনুমতি দিল কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার। এতদিন রেডিও পলিসি গাইডলাইনস অনুযায়ী খবর শোনাতে পারত না বেসরকারি এফএম চ্যানেলগুলি।
দিল্লি: দীর্ঘ অপেক্ষার পর অবশেষে বেসরকারি এফএম চ্যানেলে খবর সম্প্রচার করার অনুমতি দিল কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার। এতদিন রেডিও পলিসি গাইডলাইনস অনুযায়ী খবর শোনাতে পারত না বেসরকারি এফএম চ্যানেলগুলি।
তবে এখনই স্বাধীনভাবে নয়, এআইর (AIR) রেডিও-অর্থাত্ সরকারি রেডিও চ্যানেল থেকে খবর সংগ্রহ করে তা পরিবেশ করা যাবে। তবে ধীরে ধীরে স্বাধীনভাবে এফএম চ্যানেলে খবর সম্প্রচার করার অধিকার দেওয়া হবে। দীর্ঘদিন ধরেই বেসরকারি এফএম চ্যানেলগুলি দাবি জানিয়ে আসছিল খবর সম্প্রচার করার জন্য।
লোকসভায় প্রশ্নত্তোরপর্বে কেন্দ্রীয় তথ্য সমপ্রচার মন্ত্রী প্রকাশ জাভারেকর এই কথা জানান। সঙ্গে বলা হয়েছে ৩ লক্ষের বদলে ১ লক্ষের বেশি লোক বসবসকারী শহরে এফএম চালু করা যাবে।
প্রকাশ জাভেরকর এই বিষয়ে যা বলেছেন-
Javadekar said "in view of the dynamic nature of news, the policy is reviewed from time to time." He said once news broadcast has been opened up, government can think of further "relaxation" based on the experience it gains on the issue. Javadekar said broadcast relating to sporting events, excluding live coverage, live commentaries of sporting events of local nature, information on traffic, weather, announcement on civic amenities, natural calamities will be treated as non-news items "and will, therefore, be permissible." He said the number of cities with FM channels will increase by March 30, 2015 when the Phase-III is rolled out. He said discussions have also taken place to convert certain MW channels to FM channels as the coverage under Medium Wave is proper in some areas.
