Kumar, who topped Class XII exams in humanities stream, failed to show any academic prowess during a TV interview on Thursday.

After the news wen viral on social media, the Bihar State Education Board (BSEB) cancelled Ganesh results with immediate effect.

However, according to latest update, Ganesh is said to have forged his documents too as Kumar, who had claimed to be 24, is actually 42-year-old and is said to be a father of two children.

Bihar Board chairman Anand Kishor confirmed the report and said that state School Examination Board has lodged a case against him for concealing his age.

Last year, Ruby Rai drew national infamy after she said "political science" is about cooking. This year Kumar, the topper in Arts stream stumbled over queries posed by the media on music, in which he scored 65 out of 70 in practicals.

Kumar in an interview to a TV news channel said singer Lata Mangeshkar is known as 'Maithili Kokila', a title bestowed on folk singer Sharda Sinha, who is from Samastipur, where his school is situated.

He also seemed to have a difficult time explaining what is 'sur', 'taal' and 'matra', considered the basics of music.

Asked what did he do in music practicals, he unrhythmically sang a few lines of a Bollywood number.

A report from Samastipur said Kumar's school Ramnandan Singh Jagdip Narayan High school in Samastipur's Chhakhabib village, that had earlier scheduled a function to felicitate him, has cancelled the event following the controversy.
