Possibility of President`s Rule in Manipur increases
Due to the spurt in violence against the non-Assamese, possibility of imposing President`s Rule in Manipur after the Winter Session of Parliament in Manipur have increased.
Due to the spurt in violence against the non-Assamese, possibility of imposing President`s Rule in Manipur after the Winter Session of Parliament in Manipur have increased. On querying about the imposition of President`s Rule, Chief Minister Nipamacha Singh and his Cabinet refused to comment on this issue. But the governor of Manipur, Ved Marwah is in the Capital to discuss the same.
The Opposition parties are of the opinion that President`s Rule is the only solution to the growing law and disorder problem, corruption and the inability of the state government to curb the spurt in violence against the non-Assamese. Meanwhile, the bandh to protest the killling of a non-Assamese hotel manager has been successful. Where as, the Chief Minister is holding discussions with his cabinet and has refused to comment on this issue.
