A Pakistani newspaper on Thursday reported that military ruler General Pervez Musharraf would visit New Delhi later this month to hold talks with Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee but the external affairs ministry in Islamabad said it had no knowledge of it.
"We have no knowledge about it," the ministry spokesperson said when asked about the report which stated that the Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan would be meeting military ruler General Pervez Musharraf to deliver a letter from Vajpayee inviting Musharraf to New Delhi for talks.
'Pakistan Observer' newspaper quoting diplomatic sources in Islamabad reported that Musharraf is likely to visit New Delhi in the third week of this month and a formal invitation by Vajpayee is expected to be handed over in the next few days by Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Vijay Nambiar.
It quoted the sources as saying that India has agreed to leave behind the memories of Kargil.
