Indefinite curfew was imposed on Thursday in Khed Bhrama town in Sabarkantha district from noon following incidents of stone throwing and arson by a violent mob during the state-wide bandh to protest the massacre of Amarnath pilgrims in Kashmir. The bandh has been sponsored by Vishwa Hindu Parishad in protest against the massacre of 36 pilgrims by Pakistan-backed terrorists on Tuesday.
A frenzied mob went on a rampage in the town and started pelting stones on business establishments and set on fire three shops, police said. In Surat, police burst two dozen teargas shells to disperse a mob which indulged in stone throwing and set on fire two buses on Varacha road on Thursday morning. Report: Zeenext Bureau
