A unique afforestation project for greening the barren mountains of the Capitals Southern Ridge off Bhatti mines has been launched. It has been executed by the Delhi Government’s Forest Department in co-ordination with the Eco-task Force of the Territorial army and the Centre for Environment of Delhi University. The project-called Kargil Martyrs Memorial forest” spread over 2,166 acres close to Asola Wildlife Sanctuary-is an extraordinary tribute to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives in Kargil fighting the enemy.
