The Khiladi superstar, who is now reaping the fruits of the success of ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ will play Havaldar Ishar Singh, the military commander of 21 Sikh regiment, who on September 12, 1897, fought bravely against Afghani invaders in the war which came to be known as the battle of Saragarhi.

Interestingly, the film’s title bears striking resemblance with the colour of the ruling party – BJP. Hence, speculations are rife that there could be a link between the film and the BJP.

But a source rubbished the speculations. “The film has nothing to do with the BJP. Kesar stands for many things. It’s also a name. There is also a TV serial by the same name,” DNA quoted a source as saying.

For the uninitiated, Salman Khan was supposed to co-produce the film with Johar but reports suggest that the superstar has decided against it now. Moreover, Ajay Devgn too has plans to do a film on the same subject. He had unveiled the first look of the film titled ‘Sons of Sardaar’ last year.
