Mumbai: Kangana Ranaut’s latest – ‘Simran’ – didn’t quite have a great start at the Box Office. Directed by Hansal Mehta, ‘Simran’ was one of the most anticipated films of the year yet it couldn’t make a strong impression on Friday last week.

Nonetheless, the film saw a remarkable grown in terms of numbers on Saturday and Sunday.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the Box Office collection figures.

He tweeted:

“#Simran showed good growth on Sat, but the growth on Sun was limited due to the cricket match... Overall, the trending was positive... #Simran day-wise growth in %...Sat [vis-à-vis Fri]: 35.74% Sun [vis-à-vis Sat]: 9.57% India biz. #Simran needs to maintain on weekdays for a respectable total... Fri 2.77 cr, Sat 3.76 cr, Sun 4.12 cr. Total: ₹ 10.65 cr. India biz (sic).”

As expected Kangana’s performance was appreciated by the critics but many believed that the script was weak. Kangana’s previous film – ‘Rangoon’ – also starring Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor had proved to be a dud at the Box Office. Will ‘Simran’ gain momentum like ‘Queen’ and get the numbers too?

Let’s wait and watch.
