New Delhi: The spiritually enlightened journey of first Sikh Guru—Guru Nanak Dev has been presented on celluloid in 'Nanak Shah Fakir'. The film initially faced backlash over the depiction of the Guru. The makers have used a disclaimer at the start of the trailer stating that Guru Nanak Dev Ji has been portrayed through computer graphics.

The trailer of 'Nanak Shah Fakir' has released and none other than Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar took to Twitter and shared the news with his fans. He wrote: “Guru Nanak Dev Ji's journey across the world, spreading the message of 'Ik Onkar' will be witnessed this Vaisakhi.”

The film is produced by Harinder S Sikka under the banner of M/S Gurbani Media Pvt Ltd. And it has been written by Sagar Sarhaddi and Bhai Nirmal Singh. The movie features some known faces from Indian cinema such as Arif Zakaria, Puneet Sikka, Adil Hussain, Tom Alter, Shraddha Kaul, Anurag Arora, Narendra Jha and
Govind Pandey.


'Nanak Shah Fakir' is slated to hit the screens on Vaisakhi, April 13, 2018. It was initially set to release in 2015. The film has original score by Tuomas Kantellnen, with music by Uttam Singh and sound design by Resul Pookutty.
