1. Shashi Kapoor and Nanda


Shashi Kapoor and Nanda's jodi was admired and loved by many. His reel pairing with the veteran actress remains the most memorable one. His second film, Char Diwari (1961) also starred Nanda in the lead role. Their films like Jab Jab Phool Khilen (1965), Neend Hamari Khwab Tumhare (1966), Raja Saab (1969) were a blockbuster hit at box office. People still don't miss a chance of watching them together on TV as and when the old classics play, just to catch a glimpse of this iconic jodi.


2. Shashi Kapoor and Raakhee Gulzar


Shashi Kapoor and Raakhee Gulzar had shared the big screen together in 10 films during the 1970s and 1980. Six of them were super hits. Their best works include Sharmeelee (1971), Jaanwar Aur Insaan (1972), Kabhie Kabhie (1976), Baseraa (1981), Zameen Aasmaan (1984), Pighalta Aasman (1985). 


3. Shashi Kapoor and Zeenat Aman


Shashi Kapoor-Zeenat Aman have worked jointly in 10 films and the best of their on-screen chemistry can be seen in Krodhi (1981), Satyam Shivam Sundaram 1978), Roti Kapada Aur Makaan (1974).


4. Shashi Kapoor and Sharmila Tagore


The duo did as many as 12 films together. Famous films of them include Waqt (1965), Aamne Samne (1967) and Swati (1986).


5. Shashi Kapoor and Hema Malini


They worked together in Jahan Pyar Mile (1969), Abhinetri (1970), Naach Uthe Sansaar (1976), Aap Beati (1976), Apna Khoon (1978), Trishul (1978), Aandhi- Toofan (1985) and Maan Gaye Ustaad (1981).


Apart from Hindi films, Shashi Kapoor featured in 12 English films. He won two Filmfare Best Movie Awards for his work as a producer and star of Junoon (1979) and Kalyug (1981) respectively. 


In 2010, Shashi was presented with the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award. The actor breathed his last in Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital on December 4, 2017, evening due to prolonged kidney illness.
