“When I was finally convinced about the 3D version of Devdas, I wanted to make sure that every frame conveyed just the right proportions and dimensions. I realised that much of my film was originally shot with a lot of depth in the frames. That, in fact, made Devdas an ideal candidate for the 3D format,” a DNA report quoted Sanjay Leela Bhansali a saying.

The movie was based on the 1917 Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay's novel Devdas. It won the Filmfare Award for Best Film.

'Devdas' also featured Madhuri Dixit Nene, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jackie Shroff and Kirron Kher in important roles. Till date, the film is considered to be one of the finest examples of Indian cinemas.
