Shahid Kapoor to share screen space with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan?
Shahid was one of the background dancers in Ash`s movie Taal.
Mumbai: Shahid Kapoor may not have had a lengthy role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat but his controlled and graceful performance has left an indelible impact on moviegeors. The hunk of an actor, who has delivered spellbinding performances in Kaminey, Haider and Udta Punjab, is now being considered to play legendary actor Manoj Kumar's part in 1964 classic Woh Kaun Thi remake.
And what makes the news even more exiciting is that he may share screen space with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Yes, that's right. If Aishwarya agrees to be a part of the film, then it will be her's and Shahid's first movie together.
And here's an interesting fact for the unversed - Shahid was one of the background dancers in Ash's movie Taal. He had a blink-and-miss appearance in the song Kahin Aag Lage Lag Jave, where he is seen covering Aishwarya with a long piece of cloth.
According to a report in Pinkvilla, a source said, "The psychological thriller starring Sadhana and Manoj Kumar is celebrated to this day for its remarkable songs composed by Madan Mohan. The film will pay tribute to both Manoj Kumar and Sadhana and who better than the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to step into the ethereal Sadhana's shoes. Sadhana's screen presence combined with her captivating face was a huge crowd puller for the film. The makers are extremely keen to have Aishwarya who is considered the epitome of beauty to essay the role. She fit the bill perfectly as not only does she has undeniable screen presence and expressive eyes but is also immensely talented."
In case Ash is signed for the film, she will be reprising the role originally played by Sadhana.
Woh Kaun Thi was directed by Raj Khosla. The film which also starred Prem Chopra, KN Singh and Helen, had music composed by the legendary Madan Mohan.
Coming back to Shahid, the Udta Punjab star is shooting for Batti Gul Meter Chalu, a film costarring Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam and directed by Shree Narayan Singh.
