The actor, who began his Bollywood career with Abhishek Kapoor’s ‘Kai Po Che!’, has done extensive research about the subject of ‘Chandamama Door Ke’ that will talk about India's space program and its astronaut landing in the moon in 2017-18.


Filmmaker Singh doesn’t want audiences to think that the film would be like Hollywood’s ‘Gravity’. "We can't categorise this film with any other film and let’s not compare it with 'Gravity'. It's a very Indian film and let's not compare it with any other Hollywood film,” he said.


However, the director said that the ‘film is on the lines of 1968 released ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’’.


Talking about Sushant’s dedication and commitment level, the filmmaker said, “He has started the preparation for his character. It will be a different experience for the audience as well. As far as Sushant is concerned, he gives his 200 per cent in each and every role.”


In less than three years since his debut in 2013, SSR has beautifully displayed his versatility. From a love struck young man in ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ to the intriguing detective in ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!’ to world cup winning Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni in ‘M.S.Dhoni: The Untold Story’, Sushant has done it all.
