Toilet - Ek Prem Katha: Film unmissable, says first review
Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, Toilet-Ek Prem Katha is an unusual love story that revolves around a newly married couple and how lack of toilet in the house lands their marriage in trouble.
Mumbai: Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Toilet-Ek Prem Katha released in the UAE yesterday. The film which will hit the silverscreen today has got thumbs up from the reviewer in the Gulf.
According to Gulf News, “The film starts on a promising note...” and “Director Sree Narayan Singh has a superb knack of shrouding grim social scenarios and regressive traditions with wry humour.”
The reviewer has also heaped praise on Kumar and Pednekar’s performances and their chemistry comes across as a breath of fresh air.
The reviewer also mentions that ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ is a “satire, which takes a nick at the unholy, but prevalent practice of open defecation in India” and “comes across as a star-driven propaganda vehicle”.
However, it also says, “But don’t give up on this film yet, because it has some golden moments scattered across it.”
