The Tata Motors-owned British automaker has put the Prestige moniker on the new variant that follows two previous XE derivatives named Pure and Portfolio, said a statement.

On the occasion, the president of Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd, Rohit Suri called the all-new Jaguar XE a distinctive combination of Jaguar's cutting-edge innovation, technology and design throwing light on its aluminium-intensive architecture that boosts the strong body.

“With the introduction of the Jaguar XE, we have entered a new market segment and made Jaguar more accessible to our customers while maintaining the premium and aspirational equity of the brand,” he added.

The new saloon comes with the same 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder turbo motor as its other two siblings. The petrol pot is good for 200PS and 320Nm and propels to speeds of 100kmph from dead halt within 7.7 seconds.

It is also loaded with advanced driving technologies like Electric Powered Assisted Steering (EPAS) that offers outstanding feedback and control and all surface progress control (ASPC) which is a low-speed cruise control that helps deal with low traction situations.

Features like InControl Touch, climate control and navigation system add to the premium feel inside the car’s cockpit. Also, the 380 W Meridian Sound System enhances the interior music experience to match the precise acoustics of the XE.

Prices of the three variants:

1. Jaguar XE 2.0-litre Petrol (199.86PS) Pure at INR 39.9 lakh

2. Jaguar XE 2.0-litre Petrol (199.86PS) Prestige at INR 43.69 lakh
