New Delhi: Chinese handset maker Gionee has launched Marathon M5 Plus in China. The newly launched smartphone is an upgraded variant of Marathon M5 and features fingerprint scanner on the home button. The finngerprint sensor carries identification time of 0.38 second and response time of 0.1 second.


The Gionee Marathon M5 Plus will be available in China from December 25 at Rs 24,990 (CNY 2,499) . There is no clue yet on the announcement of this smartphone in India and there might be some changes in price and features.


The Marathon M5 Plus is powered by MediaTek (MT6753) Octa core processor and runs on Gionee's Amigo 3.1 OS based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. It packs 3GB of RAM along with 64GB of onboard storage which is expandable upto 128GB via microSD card.


The device bears a classy look with 6.0 inch full HD AMOLED screen (1920x1080 pixels) featuring 13 megapixel rear shooter (with LED flash, auto-focus and CMOS sensor) and 5 megapixel front shooter along with full hD video recording.


Along with fingerprint sensor, the battery capacity of the device again boosting its key attributes. The Marathon M5 Plus has 5020 mAh high battery capacity which makes possible running the phone to 829 hours on standby mode. This Dual-SIM phone supports 4G-LTE, , Bluetooth 4.0, Type-C USB v2.0, GPS and Wi-Fi connectivity.
