Xiaomi has sold 110 million Redmi smartphones globally: Hugo Barra
Xiaomi`s Global VP Hugo Barra claimed so via a tweet. However, he did not give any specific break-up of the market.

New Delhi: On Monday, Chinese tech giant Xiaomi claimed that it had sold over 110 million units of its Redmi smartphones since its launch in August 2013.
Xiaomi's Global VP Hugo Barra claimed so via a tweet stating that that's 1.21 units sold per second in three years.
However, he did not give any specific break-up of the market.
He also revealed that a majority of the the Redmi phone users were the yound and active mobile internet and app users in the age group of 22-29 years.
Xiaomi, China's Apple phone, has rose to be a top contender in the smartphone industry along with Samsung and Apple.
While it is the No. 1 in China, it has also establised itself well in India claiming that India is the company's biggest overseas market.
The Redmi Note 3, the company's most popular smartphone, was said to have sold over 600,000 units within 2 months of its launched in India.
According to reports, an analyst claimed that that company sold 14.8 million smartphones in the first quarter of 2016.
