New Delhi: Xiaomi Mi Band 2 will not see the light of day on May 10 as it was speculated earlier, rather it has been delayed by about a month.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun took to Weibo to share the news that the Mi Band 2, which was to be launched on May 10 along with the Mi Max phablet will now be launched a month later, sometime in June.

Reasoning the delay, Lei said that manufacturing the Mi Band 2 was difficult.

"Mi bracelet 2 production more difficult, it is estimated to be released one month later," Lei wrote in his Weibo post.

As per reports, the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 will be a startk improvement from the Mi Band and come with a display. It is also expected to reduce the band's dependence on smartphones for display.

Earlier, Lei was seen wearing the new Xiaomi Mi Band 2 in a Weibo post.
