Kerala has recorded heavy rainfall with Kottayam getting 9 cm, Kannur and Kozhikode 7 cm each, Indian Meteorological Department officials said.
They said that the heat wave has subsided from all over the country except in few pockets in Andhra Pradesh and Chattisgarh.
Karnataka also got moderate rainfall ranging from 3-4 cm at various places, they said adding monsoon is likely to enter Karnataka in a day or two.
In the north-east heavy to very heavy rains have been recorded at various places, including Assam, Megalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar and sub-Himalayan West Bengal, the officials said.
Meanwhile, Delhi and nearby areas have recorded a drop in temperatures, officials at the IMD's Safdarjung office said.
Monsoon is likely to hit the Capital on time on June 29.
Delhi recorded a maximum of 41.5 degree celsius today. Temperature of the capital would more or less remain near normal, they said.
