  • Sensex was up 209.17 points or 0.66 percent at 31,805.23 and the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 65.10 points or 0.66 percent to 9,922.15.

  • The rupee pared some of its initial gains to trade at 63.90 per dollar in late morning session today, still up by 14 paise over previous close on the back of dollar selling by banks and exporters.

  • Nifty gained 55.65 points or 0.56 percent at 9,912.70.

  • Shares of Infosys Ltd rose as much as 4.6 percent on Monday, after co-founder Nandan Nilekani returned as chairman raising hopes that a months-long row between the board and the founders of the country`s second-biggest software services exporter will be resolved.

    Infosys shares were trading 3.5 percent higher at 0401 GMT in a Mumbai market that was up 0.3 percent. 

  • The rupee on Monday opened 15 paise up at 63.89 against dollar on account of selling of American currency by banks and exporters.

  • The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 154.47 points at 31,750.53 and the 50-share NSE Nifty gained 40.15 points at 9,897.20.

    Infosys surged 4 percent as CLSA upgraded the stock to buy from underperform and raised target price to Rs 1,070 from Rs 940.

  • Infosys share surges by 4%.

Sensex up over 150 points; Nifty trades flat; Rupee opens at 63.89 against US dollar.
