Maharashtra Budget 2018: Rs 8,233 crore allocated for irrigation projects

This is the fourth budget of the Maharashtra finance minister.

  • Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna - health for all 2022 - for the implementation of this scheme, the provision of Rs 1075.50 crore has been made with more than 10 lakh beneficiaries in rural areas.

  • Provision of ₹350 Cr. for various state-level schemes being implemented for the welfare of minorities.

  • Provision of Rs 267.88 Cr. for implementing decisions of giving direct grant of 5% from total tribal component programme to PESA gram panchayats.

  • Under tribal sub-plan programme, provision of Rs 8969.5 crore collectively for Indira Awas Yojna, Shabari Gharkul Yojna, road development, electrification, health and scholarship schemes.

  • A new scheme called Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Samajik Vikas Yojana has been proposed for providing basic infrastructure facilities for the welfare of SC and Navaboudh population.

  • The Economic Survey mentioned that the per capita income in the BJP-ruled Maharashtra has risen by 12.1 percent in 2016-17 while that of the Congress-ruled Karnataka by 10.2 percent in similar period.
