The message offering discount was widely circulated on social media."In light of the surgical strike by Indian defence forces on terrorist camps, we offer 20 percent on all online orders," the message read, which was later increased to 30 percent.

The offer received mixed response with some people calling it "terrible marketing and noxious jingoism."However, the food joint sought to establish its stand saying, "Burger Singh supports Government of India`s decisive action to preserve the honour of our armed forces and the dignity of our country. We all are against terrorism and love our nation.

It was never our intention to hurt, harm, or otherwise prejudice anyone or their beliefs," the statement read."As a response to all the love coming our way across all social platforms, we are increasing discount to 30 percent," it added.
