Mumbai, Nov 26: Controversial CISF jawan Rajnarain Namdeo, whose bail was cancelled by Mumbai High Court in a murder case a fortnight ago, is absconding, police said even as his lawyer maintained that he had gone to delhi to move the Supreme Court against the lower court order. Namdeo is facing the charge of gunning down his senior a Karanjikar on May 24 at the international airport here.

He was granted bail by a sessions court. However, the state government filed an appeal in high court which cancelled his bail and asked him to surrender by November 20.

On November 21, his lawyer Majeed Memon moved an application before the trial court seeking exemption from appearance on Namdeo`s behalf. However, it was rejected by the court which asked him to surrender forthwith.

Police sources said he was not traceable at home and was absconding. The court then issued a non-bailable warrant against Namdeo but he did not surrender.
His lawyer Majeed Memon told that to the best of his knowledge, Namdeo was in Delhi and preparing to move the apex court against the high court order.

The state argued that the court had erred in presuming that this was a case of single murder because Namdeo`s intention was to do much harm. He had fired 11 rounds at his senior and then fired one round in the air to scare his colleagues before holding them hostage at gunpoint. It argued that Namdeo`s act was a coldblooded murder.
